Donations We Can Use:
All donations must be in good physical and working condition whether new or gently used. The following list represents examples of the kinds of items we can accept. Depending upon our inventory at any given time, we may not be able to accept certain items. We must retain the right to decline donations due to safety concerns, facility limitations, marketability, etc.  Have a question, call (252) 223-4493 and ask our ReStore Manager.  Schedule your pick up today for your larger items.

No, Thank You but we can not accept:
Unfortunately, we’re not able to take all items that our Habitat supporters would like to donate. Anything with water damage is not accepted. Any appliances in disrepair. Please remember, items that are in poor condition cannot be sold.  Although some exceptions may apply, we are not able to accept donations of the following items:

  • Appliances in disrepair
  • Bedding and box springs
  • Books
  • Cabinets without drawers
  • Cast iron tubs
  • China or Glassware chipped or miscellaneous pieces
  • Clothes, mattresses & baby items (Car Seats, Cribs, Med Beds, or equipment)
  • Computer Monitors (unless flat screen)
  • Concrete steps
  • Curtains, valances, skirting
  • Dishwashers (unless 5 years or newer)
  • Exercise Equipment
  • Fuels, chemicals, solvent-based coatings
  • Furniture (sags, dirty, torn, broken legs
  • Office Cubicles
  • Old Thermostats
  • Pesticides
  • Printers/Fax machines/Computers
  • Sleeper Sofas
  • Taxidermy
  • Televisions (older than 4 years) /non-flat screens
  • Toys, Stuffed Animals
  • Unframed glass & mirrors
  • Used blinds (unless vertical, wrapped, secure)
  • Used water heaters (unless 5 years or newer)
  • Used/open paint
  • Water damaged items

Your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. However, due to IRS regulations, nonprofit organizations are not allowed to provide values for in-kind donated items. Please visit the IRS website or contact your local tax professional for further assistance.
