giving tuesday campaign (3)
Jenkins family (4)

As I sit down to write to you today, I’ve been reflecting on what a year it’s been—and, while challenging, there’s also all the good that’s been happening, thanks to you.

You’ve been such a great supporter of Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity that I wanted to let you know the difference you’ve made.

Just this year, your generosity made it possible for the Jenkins Family to build their Habitat Home.

I’d especially like you to meet The Jenkins Family

Robert and Starr Jenkins and their four beautiful children, Bobby, Savannah, Amiyah, and Isabella, are natives of Carteret County. They were first introduced to Habitat for Humanity by two extended family members who were the recipients of Habitat Homes. After years of renting with inconsistent rental fees and going the more traditional route with bank financing, they considered taking a shot at the Habitat for Humanity application. Knowing the process would be physically more demanding but financially more feasible, they applied in 2017. Knowing how tedious this process can sometimes be, they waited, prayed, and trusted that God would provide, and two years later, in 2019, he did. This opportunity was finally an answered prayer for the Jenkins family, and they couldn't wait to start the process. Then Covid happened, and things stalled, so they waited and prayed again. It took a year and a half, but in June of 2021, they broke ground at their home site. I asked Star what this process has meant to her, and she said," This opportunity has brought Peace to her family; it's proof that God will show up on his time." The Jenkins are now one month away from completing their home, and they, along with Habitat, are grateful to the community and its businesses that donated and have taken time to help build their home. Without fundraising events and donations, none of this would be possible.

Your investment in Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity is an investment in Families like the Jenkins

Thank you for joining us on this journey to ensure that everyone has a decent place to live.

With gratitude,

Michelle Marion
